Isaiah 55:11-"so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty, but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it."

Have you ever noticed the wonder of nature? Have you ever sat beside a rushing stream and listened to the sounds that it makes? Have you ever witnessed a colorful sunset and breathed in its beauty? Have you ever pondered how all these things came into exsistence? 

Everything we see around us was created by God's word. In Genesis 1:3, 6, 9, 11, 14, 20, 24 and 26 all starts out with the words, "And God said." Wow, what powerful words. Sun, moon, day, night, water, land, plant, trees, birds, fish and yes even man was created by God just speaking. The beauty all around us was formed through God's Word. Amazing.

In our verse for today, Isaiah 55:11 says that God's Word is still accomplishing His desire and achieving His purpose. God has spoken His word over our lives in the form of a promise. When we read His word, the Bible, we can hear what He has promised to do in and through our lives. He wants us to discover and know He desires to do with our lives. We just have to trust and obey what He says about us.

One of my favorite passages in scripture is Jeremiah 29:11-"For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This is God's word spoken over the nation of Israel. It declared the plans and purpose God had for His children. I believe it reveals to us the heart of a father for his children. Through the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ we have been adopted into God's family and are called His children. The children of His promise.

Finding out God's promises for our lives can be found in reading, studying, meditating, and knowing God's word. His word has the power to create in us a miraculous destiny which will bring God glory and honor. It will be a beautiful masterpiece for the world to see. It will indeed demonstrate and confirm the power of God's word in a life yielded to Him.

Prayer-Dear Lord, I am amazed at the power of your words to create not only beauty in nature but a beautiful life. I thank you that your word is true and helps guide me along life's journey. Continue to reveal to me your promises. Help me to trust you as you lead and guide my life. I praise you that your word does not return empty but accomplishes your devine will and purpose. In Jesus' name, Amen!
