"You will be with child and give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name Jesus. 'I am the Lord's servant,' Mary answered. 'May it be to me as you have said.' Then the angel left her."
How would you have responded to the angel's visit to Mary with this kind of news? What would have gone through your mind knowing you would play a major role in the greatest miracle known to mankind? Mary's was, "May it be to me as you have said." WHAT? This was her response? No excuses as to why this could not happen to her. No bargaining with God as to how this was a mistake. No, maybe someone else would be better suited for the job.
Oh, how I wish I had the faith of a teenage girl who was chosen to bring the savior of the world to earth. I wish I would have a quick response when God calls me to do something great for His Kingdom. No excuses, just immediate obedience.
This Christmas season my challenge to you is to respond to God's call with the same level of faith and obedience as Mary. I believe that if we do, then God will allow us to experience our own miracles during this season of the year.
Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, give me the faith of Mary. Help me bring the miracle of Christmas to the people I meet during this holiday season. May my response to your call be, "May it be to me as you have said." In Jesus' Holy Name, Amen!
