Matthew 1:23-"The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel' which means, 'God with us."

Have you ever been in a situation where you felt alone? It may have been a time of deep despair or a difficult situation. A time when you did not know what to do or who to go to for help? It is during these times when we can trust God that He is always with us, Immanuel.

I like what Psalms 139:7-10 says, "Where can I go from your Spirit? Where can I flee from your presence? If I go up to the heavens, you are there; if I make my bed in the depths, you are there. If I rise on the wings of the dawn, if I settle on the far side of the sea, even there your hand will guide me, your right hand will hold me fast." There is a word for God being everywhere, it is "Omnipresent." God is everywhere at the same time. This is a truth about God that we can hold onto as we journey through life. No matter where we are or what we are going through, God is our ever-present help in trouble. (Psalms 46:1)

I remember a time when I felt alone, fearful and unsure of what to do or where to go. My youngest daughter had just had a three-hour seizure. She was in NICU at the Children’s Hospital in Chattanooga. It was about 1:00 in the morning and I was on my way back to see her after going home to pick up some clothes for Cindy and my stay at hospital. I was scared, anxious, tired and exhausted. I felt so alone and didn't know what was going to happen over the next few days.

I was in the car getting ready to get on interstate 75 when I felt a peace come over me. I remember thinking, "God you are here with me." You have not abandoned me in my time of need but you're walking along with me as I go through this terrible ordeal. I also remember feeling that other people were lifting my family up in prayer. It was at that time I knew no matter what happens everything would be okay.

God never leaves us in our time of need but is right there with us. He is there to provide strength, comfort, peace, encouragement and care. He gives us the wisdom to make important decisions and hope to walk through the challenges in our path. He genuinely desires to walk with us through the darkest times of our lives.

If you are facing one of life's challenges, take it to our Heavenly Father and experience His love and grace to carry you through it. He is the only one that can calm the storm and give you peace.

Prayer-"Dear Heavenly Father, I need you today. I stand on your word and know that you are, Immanuel, God with me. I need your direction, wisdom and courage to walk through this storm I am facing. I trust in you to carry me through. Thank you, Lord! In Jesus Mighty Name, Amen!"
